Cairngorm Wildlife
Guided Walks

Allan and Heather are willing to put together guided walks for visitors to the Boat of Garten area who wish to get the best wildlife value out of their stay.

The duration of each walk is entirely up to the client and could be as short as two hours or as long as the whole day.

The target species for a walk will depend to some extent on the season (for example the ospreys are simply not here in winter) but otherwise it is up to the client which birds and animals we look for. Alternatively you could leave it to our discretion.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

A typical all-day programme might run as follows:

Morning - a walk in the local Boat of Garten forests looking for crested tits and red squirrels before visiting a badger sett and finishing by the river looking for goldeneye duck and signs of otter.

Afternoon - a visit to an osprey nest followed by a short walk on the moors looking for moorland birds.

Evening - a badger watch
