Wildcats

Estimates of wildcat numbers in Scotland vary widely. The official Mammal Society story is that there are between 400 and 2,100 wildcats in Scotland, depending on what pelage identifying features you use.

What seems clear is that extinction is a distinct possibility if action is not taken. Various initiatives are under way to improve matters and BoGWiG is involved locally.
