With a major RSPB headquarters and reserve near Boat of Garten birds are fairly well catered for here. However, BoG-WiG has become directly involved in breeding programmes beyond the reach of RSPB territories for crested tits and goldeneye ducks - two very special Schedule 1 birds .

We also encourage local people to join in with whichever public surveys are under way at the time. For example, the British Trust For Ornithology Garden Bird Watch is an on-going study of birds in our gardens, while the RSPB Great Garden Bird Watch is a once-per-year effort.
