Allan
and Heather are founder members of the Scottish Beaver Network and
are strongly in favour of reintroducing the European beaver back into
Scotland.
We
were both proud to take part
in the release of three families of beavers at Knapdale, Argyllshire
on 28th and 29th May 2009. This marked the start of the Scottish
Beaver Trial in which the beavers and the habitat will be studied
for five years, after which the Scottish Government will decide what
the next steps should be.
Two
years into the trial there are four families of beavers on site, two
of which bred in 2010 and we are hopeful of more young as the trial
