Allan and Heather
are strongly in favour of reintroducing the European beaver back into
Scotland. Allan is a founder member of the Scottish Beavers Network
and Chairman of the Steering Group that has been set up to guide the
reintroduction process.
I am delighted
to tell you that Heather and I took part in the release of three families
of beavers at Knapdale, Argyllshire on 28th and 29th May 2009.
The beavers and the habitat will be studied for five years, after
which the Scottish Government will decide what the next steps should
be.
