Allan
and Heather are founder members of the Scottish Beaver Network and
are strongly in favour of reintroducing the European beaver back into
Scotland.
We
were both proud to take part
in the release of three families of beavers at Knapdale, Argyllshire
on 28th and 29th May 2009. This marked the start of the Scottish
Beaver Trial in which the beavers and the habitat will be studied
for five years, after which the Scottish Government will decide what
the next steps should be.
The
beaver trial is now well established with four families on site.
They have settled in beautifully, equipping themselves with dams and
lodges and some of the families have bred. For up to date
